Hogan Lovells to Close Three Offices

Law Firm to Pull Out of Frankfurt, Beijing, Oman

International law firm Hogan Lovells is set to close three of its offices, in Frankfurt, Beijing, and Oman, as part of a cost-cutting measure. The firm said that the decision was made after a strategic review of its global operations and that it will continue to operate in 47 other locations worldwide. The closures are expected to affect around 100 lawyers and staff.

Frankfurt Closure

The Frankfurt office, which has been open for over 20 years, will close in the second half of 2023. Hogan Lovells said that the decision to close the office was made due to the challenging economic climate in Germany and the firm's desire to focus on its core markets in Europe.

Beijing Closure

The Beijing office, which opened in 2007, will also close in the second half of 2023. Hogan Lovells said that the decision to close the office was made due to the increasingly difficult operating environment for international law firms in China.

Oman Closure

The Oman office, which opened in 2014, will close in the first half of 2023. Hogan Lovells said that the decision to close the office was made due to the firm's desire to focus on its core markets in the Middle East.

Hogan Lovells said that it is committed to supporting its affected staff during the transition and that it will work with them to find alternative employment opportunities within the firm or elsewhere.
