About the Tournament

Norway Chess 2023 is a prestigious chess tournament featuring top players from around the world. The tournament consists of two sections: a classical section and a blitz section.

Classical Section

The classical section is a 10-player round-robin tournament held from May 30th to June 9th in Stavanger, Norway. The time control for each game is 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 60 minutes for the remaining moves, with a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.

Blitz Section

The blitz section is a 10-player round-robin tournament held on May 29th in Stavanger, Norway. The time control for each game is 5 minutes per player, with a 3-second increment per move.
